Simon goes with Page & Moy

As the 1990s drew to a close, it was clear to me that family Christmases were too DULL, too PAINFUL and generally speaking a BLOODY BAD THING !!

When Page & Moy's "Christmas Holidays 1998" brochure dropped on my mat, I saw the chance to combine my love of moutains with my need for a "Christmassy Christmas".

So in 1998 I booked to go to a European mountain region which I did not know; The Dolomites.  We stayed at the community of Fiera di Primiero which is a collection of six hamlets in the South Western Dolomites.

In September 2000 I stayed at Malcesine (Lago di Garda) (again with Page & Moy)
and enjoyed further excursions of The Dolomites, the Veneto, and the Lake.  (see also Summer 2003)

Christmas 2000 loomed, but the Alitalia ticket ensured I would be spared a family Christmas by joining with the happy bunch of travellers that Page & Moy gathered in Montepulciano deep in Tuscany.  Trips to Assisi, Siena and Firenze (Florence) ensured that our eyes were not idle.

In 2001 I flew just once, again with Page & Moy, this year staying in The Dolomites at the town of Dobbiaco for Christmas. Bitingly cold weather ensured an invigorating stay in ice capped Dolomites and our Christmas was charmed by decorated towns such as Innsbruck, Bolzano, Cortina, Lienz (chiuso !!!).

For Christmas 2002 I wanted the Big Cheese, and looking for a much more more snowy Christmas than I had previously enjoyed, I booked for Page & Moy's Les Diablerets venue, where Montreux, Gruyere, Gstaad, Berne, and Grindelwald welcomed us

2002 had not provided me with a summer holiday, and I didnt want to spend another summer in Bradford without remission on the continent.  Page & Moy's "Value Tours" provided the chance, and Lake Garda was chosen for a return to Malcesine, but this time staying at the delightful Limone.

I spent Christmas 2000 in Tuscany at Montepulciano and remembered it fondly for its friendliness, its food, and for Florence.  Italy has treated me well, and so I decided to revisit the food and Florence and take myself to Tuscany, and stay at Gavinana (San Marcello Gavinana near Pistoia).  I was not disappointed in anyway!

I planned to spend Christmas 2005 in Austria with Page and Moy but found it booked up. However they offered me the chance to spend New Year at Bregenz on Lake Constance (Bodensee) so I chose this instead. A fabulous very snowy holiday was had in this Germany-speaking region with visits into Austria, Germany, Liechenstein and Switzerland

The buttons above will take you to photos of Page & Moy staff, or fellow Page & Moy travellers from ALL of my Page & Moy holidays. The Page and Moy button (above) will lead to photos of the PLACES (rather than the people). If you see yourself in any of my photos, please COPY the photo.
