Simon in Cortina d'Amprezzo

For Christmas 2001 I flew again with Page & Moy, this year staying in The Dolomites at the town of Dobbiaco.  Excursions took us to Bolzano (again), The Dolomites, and Innsbruck amongst others.

On one very memorable day we set off for a drive around the Dolomites
(see drive page).  Temperatures had fallen to below minus 20C overnight and the fuel was freezing in the coach, so our outing was nearly abandoned after only a few miles.

But we got the bus going and enjoyed a memorable journey through remarkable scenery before ending up at the "capital city" of the Dolomites; Cortina d' Imprezzo.  Here are just a few pictures of Cortina.  Yes, I know there arent many, but our stopover was brief and lunch needed to be found.  The lighting was also very awkward; very deep shadows which the very strong sunlight found difficult to penetrate down between the buildings.  I will return to Cortina and shall expand this page then.
