Simon in Dobbiaco (Toblach)

For Christmas 2001 I flew again with Page & Moy, this year staying in The Dolomites at the town of Dobbiaco.  This further North and East than Fiera del Primiero (1998), and the Austrian border was less than 20km from the town centre.

DOBBIACO carries its Austrian name "TOBLACH" on all the signposts as strong evidence of the Austrian culture here; German is spoken as the first language, and much of the cuisine owes more to Vienna than to Verona.  Excursions were to Bolzano (again), The Dolomites, and the Austrian towns of Innsbruck and Lienz (chiuso).

My love of mountains was well satisfied this time, because I saw far more of the hunky  Dolomites than I had ever seen before, and an icy coating was the "icing on the cake" for me!!

Press the DOLOMITI button to see the older (1998 and 2000) photos.
