The Queen visits Leeds

July 11 2002 The Queen's 50th Jubilee Tour visits Leeds


At 10:15hrs on Thursday, July 11th the Royal Train (pulled by engine "Prince William" drew into Leeds City Station. Out got Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth and she walked across to the new Royal Bentley for a quick trip to Leeds Civic Centre.

After a few speeches and greetings to an invited audience inside Leeds Civic Centre (relayed by Big Screen to the crowds in Millenium Square, at 11:00hrs the Queen walked from the Civic Centre through the crowds to her waiting Bentley

At about 11:15 HM The Queen completed her walkabout and got back into her Bentley for a quick trip to the TV set of "Emmerdale", lunch at Harewood House, and a concert at Temple Newsam House where she would meet the Commonwealth Games baton runners.
